Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Delphi Expert Consultation Platform (“the Platform”), operated by SRF Research and Training Centres Ltd (“SRF-RTC”, “we”, “us”), Mbarara City, Uganda — www.soarresearch.org.

1. Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using the Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you must not use the Platform.

2. Eligibility

You must be invited or authorised by a session facilitator or administrator to participate. You agree to provide accurate information when joining a session and to keep your rejoin code confidential.

3. User responsibilities

You agree to use the Platform only for lawful research purposes, to respect the confidentiality of consultation content and other participants’ contributions, and not to disrupt the service or attempt to gain unauthorised access to it or to other users’ data.

4. Facilitator and administrator role

Facilitators and administrators control session content, participant access and question release. They are responsible for ensuring their use of the Platform complies with applicable laws, ethical approvals and institutional requirements.

5. Research and ethics

Consultations run on the Platform are conducted under SRF-RTC research governance. Where a study requires ethical clearance, participation is subject to the informed-consent terms and the approved protocol communicated to you at the start of the consultation.

6. Intellectual property

The Platform, its software, designs and branding are the intellectual property of SRF-RTC. Consultation content and responses remain the property of their respective owners or of the session organiser, as set out in the applicable study agreement.

7. Data and integrations

The Platform integrates with external services such as KoboToolbox and cloud hosting providers. Use of those services is subject to their own terms and policies. We are not responsible for third-party service availability or their independent data practices.

8. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, SRF-RTC is not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of the Platform. The Platform is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate access for users who violate these Terms or for operational, security or legal reasons.

10. Changes to terms

We may revise these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

11. Governing law and contact

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Uganda, and disputes shall be subject to the competent courts of Uganda, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence. Questions about these Terms: soar.research.f@gmail.com or +256 776 131 424.
